Is it worth joining a MTB club, or is it better to just pitch and buy an event license?
If it is worth it, which do you recommend?
Joining MTB clubs - do it, or not?

Depends how ,many races you intend doing. At R35 for each day lic it could cost more than getting a lic. In Gauteng you can join Roag club , CSA and CGC for R207. This allows you to race road and MTB including provincials.

Thanks Scotty. Im not too worried about R35 here and there, but more interested in other perks like riding area, club rides and community etc.

If you in Jhb then you could ride with JMBC who ride most weekends, members free, non members pay R20.

My club offers weekly rides to club members, and there is always the instore discounts and occasional special offers like bike setups etc which are always sms'ed through to me as a member, so for me its cool.
