I read the post about the Game Drink and started thinking about all the products out there. does anyone now off any tests done on these so called performance/energy drinks to calculate the benefit?
I've tried Cytomax, USN, Biogen and 32GI. the main reason for changing is taste, cant say i've noticed a change in my performance due to anyone product....

Swapped to Hammer Perpetuem (previously used USN, and before that Fast Fuel). They all taste like c**p imho, Perpetuem so far seems to be doing more for me energy and endurance wise. I was on a dual bottle strategy, 1x Perpetuem and 1x HEED, but I bonked badly over last 25 of Tour de PPA, My current theory (aside from just going too hard) is that the HEED doesn't give me as much as the Perpetuem. Have switched to just Perpetuem but with much more concentration - and so far so good. The 99er will be the big test though!

For me 32GI is way too sweet and doesn't suite the shorter more intense activities I prefer.
Been using PVM Octane for a few years and I'm quite happy with that as together with gels and coke etc. it suites me well.
Tried some Cytomax but the flavour was not to my liking.
Would like to give the Accelerate a bash though.

I use Oros. Have been for years. What I really like is if I want it sweeter i add more concentrate, or if I want it weaker I add more water.

P.s. I am not kidding.

I use low cal squash - budget 32GI :P

At first you'll reckon it is a kak option because you have no energy. Then after probably a week or so your body figures out it's not getting much from the drink and starts making a plan to burn some fat.
I did everything by the seat of my pants. That's why I got hurt so much.

Have been using Sportron's Blitz for a couple of years, but unfortunately it has been discontinued.

That stuff really worked for me. Tried Oros and it always took my sugar levels too high or too low.

Now trying USN Cytopower HP, and am very pleased so far after first training session.

I train on apple juice, 60% juice 40% water with another bottle with only water. Works perfect for me.

During the race you basically can use any performance drink. They all do the same thing. So just go for the cheapest one with the best taste

Started on Oros, tried other stuff and went back. Good enough for when I was a kid, so why not good enough for me as an adult. I always carry a sachet of Game in Camelbak for when I suffer from water boredom on long rides.

Oros/Game and the AJ muti mix is all I care for. Also interesting to see Asker Jurgen tweet big about Gatoraid at the moment

Tried the new 32GI accelerate for the 99er this morning and was very impressed. Also tastes great which always helps.

I use FiT carbotrain with a splash of oros or powerade concentrate to improve the taste slightly. Shorter interval rides i use plain oros

Lucky Luke (and I think Tiny K as well...?) - do you guys use a specific low cal squash or will any brand do? We have one in the house and is seriously contemplating that for training when my tub of 32GI runs dry.
