Entered as well. I am going to suffer through this, but only way to get back in the game. Is it my imagination or is this an very expensive race for a 'normal' ppa race?

Fanie, waar die donner het jy verdwyn?! Na daai technical dag wat jy gahad het op die 4 passes, was jy nooit weer gesien nie.

The entry fee is 'standard' - just under R1 per Km. The Cobra this past weekend was the same price for 83Km. Jy's net so lank uit die game uit.

Screw the 40°C temps, I went for a ride along the voor paardeberg link road (between the R45 and Paardeberg winery) and past the Boland landbou school back to the R44 - I friggin died with the head wind on that link road! It will be an interesting day in the saddle if the SE blows like it did yesterday.

Ek was by die huis, besig om vet en lui te raak :-) Also not looking forward. Pretty sure the following will happen (in the order)

1. Get dropped on the bump or before!
2. Run out of water.
3. Cramp

Moenie worry nie, Fanie...

Even Contador took lots of time off after the Tour de France and gained nearly 8 kgs.

Well then do the following -
1. Hydrate well the few days leading up the event with your training / race drink - I use 32Gi. Drinking lots of water just flushes the system and leaves you pap.
2. There are enough water points along the route to fill up at
3. Ride at your own capability - get dropped if you must and let the next bunch catch up to you. Will be a more rustige pace (hopefully).
4. Take salt tabs or rennie's with you for the cramps
