Hi Hubbers,

We'll be rolling out some site updates tonight, 11 Jan 2012, at 23h00.

During this time the site will be unavailable for approximately 3 hours.

The key updates:
  • Platform update: Latest version of the community platform our Hub runs on.
This version includes many efficiency improvements - it will be faster!
It also introduces some great new features and opens up new possibilities for arranging and finding content on The Hub... but more on that after the upgrade.
  • Look 'n feel: A few subtle changes to the look and feel of the site.
Not to worry, nothing major. Mostly subtle colour and styling tweaks, but most things will be just where you left them

  • Mobile site: Improvements to compatibility and features available via mobile
I'll post more details on all the changes tomorrow.

Matt

Hi all,

The updates have been completed successfully. You'll notice some of the visual changes right away (if things look odd try pressing Ctrl + F5 or clear your browser cache).

The site will be somewhat slow for the next few hours as content is re-indexed, but within a day things will be up to full speed.

I'll post a full run down of the changes and new features later today.

If you do encounter a problem or have a suggestion please post these in the Comments & Suggestions forum.

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks! It certainly FEELS faster!
Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Doesn't look right though....top left looks out of alignment by the nav bar and the Latest Forum Posts column. Nav bar also covering up the breadcrumbs line.

Mobi site rocks.
Out of the night that covers me,Black as the pit from pole to pole,I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance. My head is bloody, but unbowed.Beyond this place of wrath and tearsLooms but the Horror of the shade,And yet the menace of the years,Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate,How charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate:I am the captain of my soul.

Subtle? The graphic change is quite noticeable, as is the speed increase. It's a lot narrower in terms of screen space, is there a setting for making it wide again?

is it just me or has the layout of the hub changed? My layout is completely different today and it sucks (sorry to whoever changed it) but I can't get into the forums very easily. The ad scroll down on the left covers up the forum drop down when it appears and it's very difficult to get into anything.
