I hate to be a nitpicker, but the poll question asks, "Is gammar...?"

An interesting point here.

You are correct that if grammar and spelling are treated as two seperate concepts then the title should be "Are grammar and spelling....?" would be correct.

However, if we experience "grammar and spelling" as one concept or collective, (being a singular "label" to express a particular subset of skills) then the correct way to title it would be "Is grammar and spelling..."

What are a gammar?

would be nice if the vote options included:

"Not Really, AS LONG as we can understand the message without having to re read the thread more than twice"

i dont know if i shoulda added a hyphen between re and read...

No problem with mistakes here and there, especially where the author's first language is not English.

But I am irked by posts that are clearly written by someone who just could not care less... or, heaven forbid, a post written in SMS-speak...

I shall not vote, for fear of attacks from the DA wing in CT, however.....

I shall use as an example a recent post regarding the 'insane' Jeb Corliss, to whit (word used deliberately)...

"Did anyone see the interview with the insane fat basejumper in the suite interviewed on TV the other night? Does anyone know his name? (or words to that effect)

Now if that is not going to cause confusion, then I don't know what is.

Firstly, Jeb Corliss is a wiry ass maniac.
Secondly he has never attempted a stunt in a suite - yet.

Whilst the error of the OP's postings were politely pointed out, and graciously accepted; and the post furiously edited...there was still some flaming from some quarters for pointing out these pertinent errors.

Fine. If you wish to post, and make no sense because you couldn't be bothered to spell correctly, use punctuation correctly or get your grammar even moderately correct, then I suggest - strongly - that you get someone who can to type up your CV.

While we are on the subject, can someone tell me what the percentage matric pass rate was for 2011, in comparison to the year 2010 etc?

Or did you miss the point?
