Hi! Which is the best MTB skills course to take? I saw Tread Magazine and mtbskills.co.za do these courses. The cost is almost the same. Did anyone do any of these? What do you recommend?

Took the Tread Mag one in PE at end of 2010 and it was pretty good. Learned a lot of helpful things! Wish they would have a follow up here with the advanced course.

I know of a few people who have done a course at Fountains (by Groenkloof) in PTA. They said that it was brilliant. I could ask for the number if you like?

How much does he charge ?
Cycling is like a church - many attend, but few understand.

Anyone have a contact for Cape Town / Tokai - Fundamental MTB Skills to Intermediate. I seem to suck the more I fall. When does it get easier? One step forward, two steps back.

we did the beginner course with mtbskills.co.za which was held at northern farm. HIGHLY recommended, we learned so much and it boosted our confidence immensely

iRide: how "beginner is the beginner and how advanced is the intermediate? I read your site and still confused!

I can safely categorise myself in the much-maligned "dirt roadie" sphere (atm my road bike is creating a nice biosphere for spiders :whistling: ). But can ride a bit of ST - e.g. enjoyed Bottelary Hills immensely this weekend. I just don't do it enough and as such have little confidence (and speed). So I am leaning towards the intermediate in my mind, but don't want to pitch up there and be out of my depth and end up doing more harm than good. Likewise, don't want to attend a beginners course which may be more suited to somebody really just starting off.

Any input? I am considering doing this - think it may be quite beneficial where I am at this stage of my mtb'ing.
