Hi guys, i am just waiting for the 3rd Jan for the suppliers to open to get conformation on a exact price, but was told it will be around the 5.5k mark.
Is that a good deal for a first time MTB buyer?

Bike in question : Merida Matts TFS 500

Looks ok but you probably will want to upgrade the fork at some stage, also the Shimano octalink BB isnt to great and will have to be replaced later.

BTW I am selling a second hand Merida TFS 500 here http://www.thehubsa....matts-tfs-500-v feel free to have a look :)

That's a very good price, grab one at that price-they normally go for low to mid 7K!

Cycle lab has them for R7649 so 5.5k sounds like a bargain

BioMouse

Seems you Gauteng guys get better prices !

Just yesterday I called Cycle Lab Tygervalley Cape Town, because I'm currently looking at the 500 and they quoted me 8500. Four other shops around Stellenbosch and Somerset West was also 8500 with Masons in Stellenbosch the cheapest at 8000 !

I saw that bike for R7700 in pta , what did you end up paying for it?
