Anyone know what the road surface is like around the back of this route?

There are a few rough sections on the R550 approaching the R23 (both directions).
Potholes will be fixed/repaired before race day

The road surface is actually not too bad... when compared to previous years.
There are a few holes here and there, but nothing too bad.

Remember that entries are available through www.germistonclassic.co.za (direct link)

One week left to enter online.

Good news - we've negotiated with the Dial Direct Pothole Brigade to fix the potholes, not sure who's more excited - them or us.

ya please people... save the cyclists and fix the potholes....

And marshals with common sense is also a plus. Not like at emperors where you had to ask which way to go. Or at the one intersection where there was a man handing out papers in the middle of the road. The marshal should have told him to get the hell out of there.

I feel better now.... thank you

I always enjoy this race - nice fast and flat - for big people like me little drag in the middle not a problem. Looking forward to it

On a side - why was this race not listed on the supercycling webpage?

Yip, most of our marshals are cyclists - so they know what cyclists expect.

It's all about cost, or at least finding ways of keeping the costs down.
Will it affect the final numbers?? Time will tell
