Well done to Robbie! I've seen him in Europe at several T de F's. Always a big effort :-)

is that true? uh mean did he punch the actual air or did it evade his fists of fury?

well done, on his eis. well that just shows the gap, doesn't it. go to europe guys.

Yup, he punched the air. Scared away the cyclone apparently. Great ride by all accounts. Well done, Robbie.

He earned this, really, after years of experience and representing the flag.

Feisty personality.
Then again, gotta be tough at that level.

Nice!

Now to see him wearing SA colours on the World Pro Tour circuit.

Great and congrats to Robbie. It was a tough course. Would have loved to see JLA take the win, but I think the guy in best form took it.

@Vaughters: Congrats to Robbie Hunter for winning the South African national championships!

Also big up to Reinhart van Rensburg. He's a great prospect for the future. Nice to see Nolan in the mix too. Did his crime, served his time. Jay also put in a monstrous effort to bring the break back.

That's a massive win. I didn't expect him to do it. Taking that win with all of the teams gunning for you is something special. Can't wait to see some highlights of the race.

If you want better, more knowledgeable commentary, watch the Pedal Talk highlights package on SABC2 Sunday at 13:00 (Johnny Koen). Should be on this Sunday or week after.

You shoulda seen his first year with mapei. He punctured at the Jock, before boulders. The big boys laid the smack down. He caught the bunch, and rode all our so called climbers off his wheel on Boulders.

He's probably more talented than the entire local "pro" peleton put together.
