It is a great idea.

However we have already proposed this to KZN Wildlife who own and manage the dam, but they cannot give us any deal as it is a government run organisation and all bookings need to be done through central resevations in JHB. We also tried to pay for your gate entrance fee, so that you would be allowed to just drive in to the Dam without being stopped and having to pay. However The need to issue each person with a ticket and they need to collect cash from each athletes themselves. They said something about auditing etc. Even the Midmar Mile competitors and spectators who number 30 000 people in 2 days have to pay themselves.

We have tried guys... but as you can see, talking on deaf ears and red tape doesn't help.

There are still Chalets available and loads of camping sites for that weekend. But just a suggestion, if you are booking for camping or Chalets... book early as the good sites fill up fast. For people wanting 3* plus accomidation, try our Accomidation partner Woodridge Hotel and Spa which is only 10min drive from Midmar and is fantastic.

Hey B-Active, change your web address on your footer, you have moved. :D

If fact, get clever and put the event address links, so you can save me several clicks.

I've just entered, need to beat the 70.3 time.
Lucky for me, I set the bar quite low at 70.3

Bubblez, i'd be surprized if you don't beat your time. The Midlands Ultra bike route is realiviely flat and very fast on the return section of the loop (x4) your run route is also flatter then EL... so it should be faster!

Good luck with your final prep.

Entries closing within 24hrs.....

Good luck to everyone racing. Unfortunately I could not make it and that off course means that the water will be safe to swim in. Will make up for it at Buffels the week after.

When is Spectrum adding Buffels to their website?

Garfield,

the buffelspoort race isnt a spectrum race....we just help out
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally used up and worn out, shouting '..man,what a ride!
