This is a very emotional yet challenging post for me to make: there is a Hubber in our midst that urgently could do with your immediate emotional and imminent financial support.

A very good friend of my wife and I, my really close cycling buddy and regular training partner, and fellow Hubber, was last week confirmed as having motor neuron disease (MND) following earlier lumbar punctures and unsuccessful HIG treatment.

The diseases are a group of neurological disorders that affect the cells that control voluntary muscle activity such as walking, speaking, breathing, swallowing and general movement of the body.

Since earlier this year, Tinkerbell has been struggling with a severe loss of function in her right hand and more recently her right foot. Dragging of the foot and muscle wasting in the hands are classical symptoms of the disease in its early stages.

MND progresses quickly and is typically fatal within 5 years. But Tinkerbell is a hammer with an incredible will! She recently completed the Trans Baviaans despite showing advanced stages of the symptoms mentioned above.

MND has no known cure according to Western medicine. But there is hope if one looks to Chinese medicine treatment, and we would like to get Tinkerbell to a Chinese clinic as soon as possible. Hope is all we have to cling to at this stage of the race, and this is going to be Tinkerbell’s toughest race yet. Tougher than the Trans Baviaans.

For now the aim of this post is to raise awareness of Tinkerbell’s condition and plight. I will be exploring fund raising ideas and administrative requirements over the next few days, and will then be calling on Hubbers for your support.

This is bad. All I can do is raise her up in prayer at the moment. It must be one of the worst "diseases" out there.

Forty Scripture Memory Verses On Healing


Romans 10 tells us that faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of Christ. To help us believe God for healing ourselves, our friends and our families it helps to have a good grasp of the Scriptures concerning healing. These Scriptures are small enough to be written on a business card sized bit of paper, carried around and memorized.

Thanks G. Certainly got the CD guys on my radar screen. Just need to gather our thoughts for now and come up with credible action plans.
