I've not heard whether Kyalami Race Track still allow cyclists from 17:00 to sunset (Monday to Thursday) now we're over the 94.7 (and I haven't gone down to see).

Now that I've eaten ALL the Christmas pudding (and anything else that was lying around)Posted Image, I'm thinking that I should make the effort to go down 1 or 2 nights a week (if it's open).

Anyone know?

Hey levett! I contacted them in Dec and the word was they're closed until Feb.

Give them a call on 011 466 2800 for updates...

The track is available Mondays to Thursdays for cyclists from 5pm onwards.  I haven't been this year yet.  It was R10.00 last year, not sure if they've upped the price.

Just give them a call - they're usually pretty helpful.

Best training route in all of JHB  Posted Image Just ask Jacques Fullard, Casandra Slingerland and Doug Rider who visits it often. You'll feel your legs scream after you've done your 10th lap up Mine Shaft  Posted Image

Hey Y'all
Any one got connections at Kyalami Race Track to let the cyclists on the track a bit earlier than 5pm? They say you can ride from 5 to sunset but at the moment sunset is about 5:55 and next month 5:30.

Ok, this may be a long shot, how long to Kyalami if I leave Randburg at 3:30? Might need to go there once a week , especially for longer intervals...

I asume you are talking about leaving on your bike ? In that case it could take you 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how fast you can go and if the traffic lights play with. So I think you should be there at around 4:30 give or take a few minutes.

Just a reminder to all, I saw yesterday that the track will be closed next week Monday and Tuesday and will only open on Wednesday the 21st again. They say a guy by the name of Lewis Hamilton is going to ride there in a Merc.
