An Inconvenient Youth

Slap on the wrist or pat on the back? Either way, SA's democracy will have to endure Juju for a while yet. A slap on the wrist could lead to a revolt from the ANCYL and potentially a splinter from the ANC. A pat on the back entrenches his legitimacy as a represented politician within the ANC.
The ANCYL have mobilised their masses. Let's hope for calm and restraint.
I don't know if Juju has an authentic Twitter account, but a recent Tweet stated "With me I shall carry the cross of economic emancipation. We shall all be together in Paradise".

Zuma has to squash the Julius bug before he becomes a real presidential candidate - he's probably already left it a bit late.
I'd like to believe that the ANC is disciplining Julius for the right reasons (he's a racist, violence inciting cancer) but this is an ANC power struggle and Zuma wants to remove the opposition.
He has been disciplined before and threatened with removal from the ANC - he got off with an apology - this time I don't think he'll be so lucky.
Who would have thought Zuma and I would be aligned on this matter????

A former colleague of mine, Alex Eliseev, who was at the YL presser yesterday, described Malema's demeanour as that as a man who knew he was facing the endgame. Apparently, the League's last-minute efforts on Sunday and Monday night to solve this through "political engagement" rather than the hearing fell on deaf ears from a resolute mother body.

If you go to www.iol.co.za and put Forde into the search function, there are four extracts from the book.

I am glad in a way that they are more concerned with carrying on with the country's business rather than ANC business.

I am very interested to see how this is going to be handled. For me this is the biggest show of their priorities after 1994...
just my 2 cents

He will toyi toyi, sing, wave a wooden AK around and prance about like a little weasel on coke and then suddenly reappear solid and steafast to the ANC...ready for the next round of super-hype twaddle!
They have to do something, elections are coming up and RSA needs all the foreign investment it can get!

Is he on 702 as a correspondent? I think I've been listening to some of his reports...
I see the ANCYL only managed to mobilise a few hundred demonstrators. Ooops.
Zuma is conveniently out of the country for a good reason - so that the Mr. Joe Average Youth League doesn't associate Zuma with the hearing only the "ANC". Smart move I reckon.

I guesstimated about 1500 in total this morning, taking into account the peeps in the gardens, and the two groups of marchers.

I see his representation isn't an office bearer.
