Right, thanks to DiverNick I have a bike... :)

Once upon a time it was a Peugeot Mirage.

What I'm aiming for - we'll see how close I get.

This is the starting point - it has wheels, Campy someting or other. They actually are very pretty wheels (I'm new to roadie stuff - I know NOTHING about what's what) and not as low profile as in the image above. Once I'm done, I'll fit them and see how they look and decide whether to keep them or replace them as budget allows.

Things to do:

1. Strip bike
2. Strip paint from:
- frame
- forks
- brakes
- cranks
3. Grind off:
- gear mounts
- little peg/doofus thingy on rear triangle
4. Fill grinding points and flat
5. Prep frame, forks, brakes, cranks, stem
6. Zinc Chromate ali stuff
7. Prime
8. Paint
9. Reassemble
10. Remove freewheel and braze shut, refit
11. Get:
- bull horn bars (from? CRC has for R400 odd)
- new tyres / tubes (anyone know where I can get purple tyres?!)
- new cable / housing for front brake ( can you get purple cable housing )
- brake pads
- purple bar tape
- big ring and cog (what size?!) plus means of fixing cog.

12. Service hubs
13. Fit all this stuff
14. Ride!

Anyone gonna join me for a fixie 94.7?!

May i ask why you don't just get a track hub. Then can get a flip flop hub

If thats a cinelli stem you wont be able to use it with your bullhorns. Its a unique 26.4 diameter, unless you can get a shim from somewhere.

It's definitely a thought.

I want to fit the wheels I have, and see how they look. The choice would be to replace the hub (what with new hub, spokes and wheel building this won't be too cheap) or just get CRC to build me a complete new wheel that looks like the wheel in the pic right at the top of the post.

Thanks for that. I'll need to do some measuring.

Don't take this one of, you need it to hold the chain when you flip the wheel.

Bullhorns from CRC

For those you'll need a quill adapter and an oversize modern road stem.
