So Yesterday, while watching the Tour.. I noticed a dude that looked not, so , well European.

Then Phil Ligget goes live oin air stating this guy is the first "colored" to ride in the TdF.

Respect an all.. but I thought that we in the Cape were the only ones globally to have the right to lay claim to the title "colored"?

Damm Euro Bastard Agents up to their Colonial tricks yet again...???

I heard that too...

'Colored' is also a derogatory term used decades ago in, eg, USA.
'Man of colour' would be more apt.

BTW what is the brother from Europcar's nationality?

Then, again,

What is the difference? rather be proud of the man on what he achieved, and do not be South AFrican and the draw race card into this again!

Phill does not care a damn about the chip on your shoulder!

Bit like when you hear "1st Japanese in the TdF" we all salute the Japanese dude for his achievements on a sporting level.
Yet I hear the term "colored" and I thought "Hey thats out own unique SA thing!!"
But maybe not..

Not from the cape flats after all - Phil's geography not what it used to be.
I did everything by the seat of my pants. That's why I got hurt so much.

He is from Guadaloupe, in the Carribean, which the French somehow still seem to 'own'.

And there have been 'non-white' riders in the Tour before. Abdel-Kader Zaaf in the 50s, just one example of the French putting Algerian regional teams in the Tour.

Phil should remember that?
