Rule 1: This is a friendly competition, mistakes do happen but will be corrected as soon as humanly possible. The winner will be the person with the highest total at the end of the Tour. This person will have bragging rights for as long as he/she desires, and there's nothing you can do about it.

The short version explained

Pick 9 riders, any nine riders from the start list
Pick 3 teams, any three teams from the start list
Send your list by PM or post on this thread topic before 12:00 on 2 July 2011
Check back every day to see how your selected riders/teams bring you points.

Right, how do you score points?

The long version explained

First you must pick 9 riders (any 9 riders)
Pick from the official starters list, which will be published below (next post) once available on the official TdF website (www.letour.fr - the english version)
You can change your 9 riders as often as you like, but must be before 12:00 on Saturday, 02 July!!
If you loose a rider during the Tour (injury, doping, retiring, missed cut off, etc.), sorry for you
Then you must choose three teams from the 22 teams listed below (next post)
Stage 2 is a Team Time Trial
Then you sit back and hope to hell that the team you've picked is worth their weight in gold, as that's the only way you'll score points.

Points are awarded as follows:

1. Stage placings - individual and team placing
2. Daily points - Jersey holders (the person who leads that category only) and GC positions at that point in time
3. Overall GC - at the end of the Tour

1. Stage placing (all stages, excluding the Team Time Trial)
Daily Stage placings (20 stages, 15 points per stage)
1st 5 points
2nd 4 points
3rd 3 points
4th 2 points
5th 1 point

Stage placing (Team Time Trial only - 15 points for the stage)
1st team 3 points
2nd team 2 points
3rd team 1 point

Each rider on the winning team 1 point

2. Daily Points

Daily GC (21 stages, 15 points per stage)
1st 5 points
2nd 4 points
3rd 3 points
4th 2 points
5th 1 point

Jersey holders (21 stages, 6 points per stage)
Yellow 1 point
Green 1 point
Polka Dot 1 point
White 1 point
Aggressive 1 point (not a jersey, but a red number)
Team 1 point (not a jersey, but a yellow number)

3. Overall GC (only awarded at the end of the Tour, 53 points)

1st 20 points
2nd 15 points
3rd 10 points
4th 5 points
5th 3 points

In short, there will be 36 points on offer each day (1 & 2 above), plus 53 points right at the end of the Tour (3 above)
If an aggressive rider is not awarded on any of the days for whatever reason, then points won't be awarded accordingly.

The spreadsheet will be available after each stage to check your points.

Right, now
pick your 9 riders and 3 teams, and
send them to me by PM or posting in this thread
no exceptions
.

Surely you can't, as the teams themselves haven't finalised their rider lists, and you may select a rider that ends up not getting a slot?

Or am I missing something?

Now to identify all who are 'associated' to determine pointsPosted Image

Unless you use the hypothesis that all cyclists are 'implicated', and they have to proof 'non-association' Posted Image

I haven't read everything, but to make it easier, why don't you just use the Fantasy League and create your own The Hub league? (oh boy, if that is what you are doing then I'm going to get flamed big time!)

We did do that also last year but the fantasy league works a bit different. With transfers and a couple of other things.

Frosty's league gives you bragging rights!
