just to jump in on this too, im running a conti mix (mountain and race) on Alex rims at 1.8bar front and back and i weigh 84kgs. Not one problem for over a year now.

Hey, I'm new here.

I use my bike almost exclusively on tar roads, I weight 81 KGs and I love the tactile feedback of having my tires hard. I normally go for 300 to 350 PSI, which translates to 20.7 to 24.1 bar. What downsides are there to having my tires that hard?

You must have bar and psi mixed up mate

I pump to 350 PSI, my tires have a maximum of 375 PSI specified. If 14.5 PSI = 1 Bar I'm correct?

My mistake, it's 350 KPa :/ 50.8 PSI or 3.5 Bar :P
