Report back: BRM of 400 km, March 26/27.
Route: Rondebosch - Klapmuts - Malmesbury - Hopefield - Velddrif - return.
Conditions started cool - as low as 9 degrees at Klapmuts - rising to 27 degrees, with a fresh to strong South-Easter (estimated 30-40 km/h, gusting considerably higher) by afternoon, dropping to 20 degrees by evening, with the wind abating slightly.
Overall it was a hard day at the office, starting with a sizzling first half to Velddrif in under 7 hours with the help of the tailwind. Then it was time to turn around and head back for the grim slog into the wind - which had picked up - for the next 150 km.
I didn't notice much, because I was in the support/monitoring vehicle with the aircon and the music turned up.
Starters: 3
Finishers: 3 (two at 17 hrs 15 min elapsed time, one at 21 hrs 52 min).

Wow, sounds great to have had that tailwind, at least for a while!
When is your 600 scheduled for?
How many from the Cape are aiming to do PBP?
