Stolen bikes in Durbanville

Eish guys, last Wednesday my garage was cleaned out by some of our lovely local "redistribution experts" who decided that my bikes were better off in their hands. So, stolen bikes are: Trek Madone 6.9 with SRAM Red gruppo and Mavic pedals. Orange colour. Not many of those around... Bike number 2: Trek TTX 9.5 TT Bike with Ultegra gruppo and a Cycleops power tap on the rear. Grey colour with blue cables.... Bike number 3: Red and black Raleigh RC6000 with all my cables and computer of my Elite IDT still attached... Bike number 4: my son's GT junior MTB, black colour. I do believe these bikes will probably surface somewhere locally so please keep an eye out. It's all insured, but still bloody infuriating. Those were my babies.... Any news, pls PM me. Thanks.

Best frame and wheels for R13 000

My road frame is cracked and I need a new one. Anyone recommend any good frames for R10 000 and possibly a wheelset for R3000? (Most I can spend is R13k, so a cheaper frame and more expensive wheels will do as long as its R13k or under)

Options are Giant TCR Composite: R9700, no idea about wheels though..

Hi everyone

I found a saddle bag on the cycle track between Cape town and Milnerton earlier this afternoon. Please let PM me if you have lost your bag. Provide some evidence by telling me the make of the bag and typically what you had in the bag. We can then arrange for you to get the bag back.

Big up!!!

Ok so I bought an iqabi winny bike rack in December and so far have been very pleased, I know it's not. Thule but for the price it's exactly what I want from a bike rack.
Saturday however I had a brain fart and managed to drive over the electric plug smashing it into a thousand pieces. So I figure no worries I will get a cheap replacement 7 pin towbar plug from Midas and fix the problem myself. Needles to say I cannot make heads or tails of the wires and am at a loss.

So Sunday I get onto www.iqabi.com and ask if they can give me the wiring diagram so I can get the lights working again. To be honest I was expecting to have to find an auto electrician to help. I received a mail from Jan before the end of the day Sunday saying he will try to help. Guessed it was a BB but was non the less impressed that he could respond so quickly.

This morning I get a mail from Jan stating that he wil give me a new set if light for the rack. I was expecting some kind of cost but was very pleasantly surprised when he stated that he will gladly just give me a New set no charge or questions.

Am honestly blown away, firstly by the price and quality but more I think by the attitude. Well done guys awesome service will definitely recommend.
Oh on that note they are now available from cycle lab fourways, last check R2800 for a 4 bike ride on rack.

Att: East Rand cyclists

not sure if this should be here or in the safety section.

Those that ride on North Rand rd in the mornings. this is for you.

This morning I was off to the airport real early. It was before 5am and there were a number of groups of cyclist on the road. At first I was a little irritated that the guys were taking the entire left lane, but I let it slide because there was hardly any traffic.

Then on the way back from the airport (about 5:15) I came across another group, this time there was a guy on a MTB on the far right of the group, he was clearly struggling, but what p'd me off was that he kept moving over into the right hand lane. So as I got within 50m of them I gave a short tap of the hooter to let them know there was a car around. Well clearly that was wrong as there was swearing as they came past me whilst I was stopped at the next red light.

and 2 more things guys
1) red lights, STOP DAMMIT. On that road I even stop at green lights, and thats in the car with a few 100kgs of steel around me and multiple airbags. Why ? because the idiot motorists dont give a damn, and the cover of darkness seems to make the number of idiots multiply exponentially.

2) red lights again. but this time those at the back of your bike. Whilst most of you had bright fast flashing ones, a few of you had dim and / or slow flashing ones, these dont work so well, sort them out.

Hi

Shimano VS Campagnolo 2011

So Shimano's turn over was $ 2.1 Billion and Campagnolo's was $ 150 million in 2011

But......

Shimano caters for a whole lot of mtb'ers worldwide and they probably make more money of the cheap parts they put on their "Makro" and "Wallmart" bikes ( there must be millions world wide on every kid's bike riding to school)
than the more expensive road groupsets.

Now what if Campy brought out mtb groupsets, made cheapies for kids or worse fishing equipment ............
